Hampshire County Jail and House of Correction, Northampton, Massachusetts
Advanced Energy Systems Development has been retained by the Hampshire County Sheriff's Department to survey, evaluate, recommend and implement system improvements to a 300 panel solar domestic hot water system that supplies hot water and space heating to the Hampshire County Jail And House of Correction located in Northampton, Massachusetts. This solar hot water system was originally put into service in 1984 and remains one of the largest in the eastern United States.

Installation of this unit will bring to four the number of wind turbines that the University has installed on a roof. This method of siting and installing a wind turbine is extremely innovative.

The flat plate collector utilized in this installation is a Heliodyne Gobi 410. A previously installed 3.6 kw photovoltaic system borders the solar collector.

The collectors are installed on a ground mount due to roof orientation and shade issues. The evacuated tube collectors utilized in this installation are Apricus 22's.

In January 2008 Advanced Energy Systems Development installed a 2.4 kw photovoltaic system on a tracker at a residence in Halifax, Massachusetts. The high output Sanyo modules mounted on a Zomeworks dual axis tracker boosts output almost 100% versus mounting the same modules on a roof.
